Popovers

Sometimes when the guys are on a campout the rest of us turn breakfast into a tea party. You can make popovers out of almost nothing, but they seem special, and they are wonderful with a pot of tea.


POPOVERS           makes 6-8


1 C. flour

1/2 tsp. salt

1 C. milk

2 eggs, slightly beaten


Heat oven to 450°. Generously grease six 6 oz. custard cups or 8 med. muffin cups. Stir all ingredients with fork just until smooth (do not overbeat). Fill custard cups 1/2 full, muffin cups 3/4 full. Bake 20 min. Park the hungry children in front of the oven to watch the popovers pop. 



The next step may be unnecessary depending on your oven.

Reduce heat to 350°. Bake  0-20 min. until deep golden brown. Immediately remove from cups. Serve hot.
